About Rebecca Zdybel

Why I paint:
I have always seen the world through a loving lens. Beauty has always been apparent and exciting to me. I began to paint in order to attempt to capture that beauty in some way through the painting process. As an artist, I have the opportunity to celebrate this vision. The painting becomes a way to play with light and color, line and texture. I like to explore possibility in my work. At this point, I reject the idea of even having a "brand" or signature look to my work. I don't want to limit my perspective or technique, nor do I want to constrain my approach in any way. I love having every option available to me. This makes the journey toward completion of a painting exhilarating. Anything is possible!
Why I sell:
In sharing my work over the years, I have come to welcome the exchange that happens between artist and viewer. I am thrilled when someone comes to love and enjoy a piece which I have spent hours or months creating! My own perspective on the piece is often broadened when they point out something in the work which I previously never appreciated. These kind of experiences have been so exciting that they have helped me overcome my shyness, and come out of the closet as an artist. Since doing so, I am constantly reinforced in the idea that sharing my work can be positive. Moving my work out into the world also creates a void that energizes me to paint more in order to fill the void.
My goal for selling:
I would hope that sales of my artwork could help make the world a better place. It sounds a little cheesy I know, but I promise you it's sincere. Charitable donation is at the heart of my business plan. I am committed to donating at least 30% of all sales to charity. My goal is to sell my work and partner with collectors in order to create a win-win-win transaction. My hope is to increase my connection with the public and sell both my work and the idea of doing good while doing business. If you decide to purchase a painting, I look forward to being your partner in the process.
